Default Smiting Monk

Hey guys I was just thinking,"I want to have a smiting Monk... But then I'll get yelled at by random people." After thinking this, I thought about it. THe Primary attribute wouldn't be put to much use. But I almost never use the primary attributes anyways. Well, do you guys think that if iI want to be a smiting monk it would be worth the hassle of random PUGs yelling at me?

play the game how u want to play it... if u want to play a smiting monk... go ahead... their awesome in pve especially in the Kryta area where there are a lot of undead monsters.

just be sure to tell ur team b4 hand that ur a smiting monk... expect some players to yell at u tho... most think monks should only be healers

Yeah people hate smiting monks, you wont actually get to do much smiting usually as you will be dead within 10 seconds lol

Being a smite monk does not necessarily mean you're running the 105/55 build.

To the OP, you can also bring some protection or healing skills along as well. Just make sure you let the group know that you will not be a primary healer.

Default A smiting monk career

Let me tell you a funny story. I made a smiting monk, just a normal build. Attributes in divine favor, next smiting, then protection, then healing. Healing was actually low and I changed that because you want to heal yourself of course.
Groups always want a monk, but not a smiting monk. I realized that, so I did the most part of the game with henchies. It was fun and things ran ok (I had already an ascended ranger, so I have some experience)
The Thirsty River mission was a break; I could not do it with henchies. So I turned my smiting-monk into a healing-monk. It was actually not that much, because I had some attribute points in my second profession (that was ranger for Edge of Extinction; I wanted that to combine with the smiting skills. It never worked out).
The Thirsty River was one of the best experiences I ever had with this game. Thirst within seconds I was invited, then the mission self was great; we took out all the teams in the two-minute time frame. Things went really smooth; nobody took real damage.
Now I see my monk still as a smiting monk. Before the fight I launch Zealots Fire, Whenever I cast a spell on an ally, nearby foes take damage, A hex? Smite hex, about 50 damage for nearby foes. You should not damage the foes yourself, but let your allies do it and just boost it. Use 5 energy point spells. Revearsel of Fortune is one of my favourites. It has a very fast recharche time. I protect/heal and smite. You can do a lot of damage by using healing and protecting spells. You can have the fun of being the most wanted character in the game and still doing damage. Just keep that healthbar of your buddies high and pump out the pain.
My monk finished the game last night, just before my (older)ranger. I have already made a new monk. With her I want to play the game with only pug, no henchies, and she is going to smite a lot.
